If you have a hitter that struggles with weight transfer and really getting into their front side, the step back drill is a great drill to help them.

We're  going to have our hitters front foot about equal to the tee, with their feet about shoulder width apart. To start the drill, we'll have our hitter step back and feel that weight on their backside leg, and then step forward to their contact point.

The goal here is for the hitter to feel that weight transfer going back and forward into the swing. This drill really teaches the feel of that weight transfer that they need to have if they get stuck on their backside, it's really difficult to go backwards and then go forward. It forces them to feel that. They're going to step back, maintain good posture and feel that weight transfer going forward.
