No matter the age or level of the hitter, training a solid bat path is really important in the bat. In this drill we're going to teach you how to train the proper bat path.
To start, we're going to have the hitters set up in their launch position. They're going to start with the knob going towards the catcher. And they're going to focus on their first move to the ball and getting some side bend and seesaw action in their swing.
The focus here is on turning from the middle and also getting the proper bat path and side bend depending on the location of the pitch. With a high pitch, you'll see less side bend and on a low pitch, you're going to see a lot more side bend. The hitter is going to focus on three moves to the ball. And on the fourth time, they're going to swing away, really ingraining the proper first move to the ball and the proper bat path.
